New Genealogy Classes
New Genealogy Classes! All classes are FREE and held at the McGill Library in Quincy.Wednesday, August 24 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Genealogy Series: Getting Started - This class is the first of a five-part series and is in intended for individuals who are interested in learning how to research their family history.
Wednesday, August 31 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Genealogy Series: Repositories - Discover various types of repositories including county, state and national and the types of records they house.
Wednesday, September 7 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Genealogy Series: Documentation and Organization - Learn how to properly document your sources and organize your files both on and off the computer.
Wednesday, September 14 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Genealogy Series: Research I - Discover various online databases, internet websites and library resources dedicate to genealogy research.
Wednesday, September 21 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Genealogy Series: Research II - Continue to learning various online resources most helpful in your genealogy research.
Prerequisites for Research I & II: Students must know computer basics including how to use a mouse and some familiarity with using the Internet and an interest in family history.
